7 East Coast Beaches To Visit This Summer

The beach is the only place I can think of this summer where I have actually felt any sort of breeze and break from the relentless heat. I love working on my tan, laying down on the soft sand and sipping on a cold drink. All of this can happen at the beach without sweating buckets and feeling uncomfortable.

The beach is not only a place that provides a break from the intense climate surrounding us, but also a place that gives our eyes something so incredibly pleasing to look at. The beaches on the East Coast are stunning and anyone who loves the outdoors can really appreciate their beauty.

Hanging out with friends, playing some beach volleyball, eating some barbeque out on the deck– whatever you may choose to do at the beach, all of it is relaxing because of the setting and scenery. Who would not be relaxed in 85 degree weather with the waves crashing in the background and the warm sand between their toes?

These are some East Coast destinations to find beaches perfect for a visit this summer. Trust me, no distance is too far to travel to experience these destinations, I have experienced many of these beaches first-hand.

Southampton, NY

Southampton broadly has many small beaches, and all of them are gorgeous. Cooper’s Beach is the main favorite out of all of them, and while it does have some setbacks in the form of cost getting there, it offers not only a view of the ocean, but also a view of breathtaking mansions.

Nantucket, MA

Nantucket has beaches that are maintained in a picturesque state. There are plenty of beaches to go to and they all offer different things. Children’s Beach is popular for exactly what it says on the tin – it is extremely family friendly and fun activities are usually taking place there.

East Hampton, NY

East Hampton, like the rest of the places listed, has plenty of beaches. I suggest going to Indian Wells Beach because it is not as busy as other beaches and is a bit more low-key and relaxing.

Martha’s Vineyard, MA

At this point I feel like everyone has heard about Martha’s Vineyard. It truly is a stunning place to visit. State Beach is open to the public but nothing is lost due to this fact. Have some fun and explore the island while you are there!

Old Orchard Beach, ME

Maine, all in all, is just one of my favorite places in the entire world. I love the outdoors and Maine supplies me with all I need to be one hundred percent happy. Old Orchard Beach provides lots to do – from putt-putt golf, to dancing, to good food, and it has it all and the views to back it up.

Ocean City, MD

Ocean City is known for many things, and according to my boyfriend, who is from Maryland, it is worth it to go just for the legendary fries there. All of the beaches have activities most nights and they are all family friendly.

Amelia Island, FL

Amelia Island has restaurants and activities galore. There is a museum and I think the horseback riding along the beach sounds tranquil. Crack a book open, put your feet up and relax – you’re in Amelia Island!

Have some fun and take time off of work. Spend that quality time with family and loved ones and de-stress. The beach is the perfect place to do just that. These beaches listed above are suggestions and practically any beach you find will be pretty if it is on the East Coast.
