8 Amazing Yoga Poses to Detoxify Your Body
Did you have yoga on your New Year goals list that still lies unchecked, crumpled in your drawer maybe? Well, it is about time you roll out the mat and check some items off of it because we’re going to do some yoga, ladies! Without further ado, let me start with the list.
- Wide-Legged Forward Bend
I don’t usually start with this pose, but I have found that it helps strengthen my hamstrings a great deal. This pose allows your head to fall below your heart which increases the flow of blood towards your heart. The reverse gravity is also great for your body’s health because it encourages blood flow through your entire body.
- Revolved Chair Pose
This pose might appear slightly hard to do, but once you get the hang of it, you will love to perform it. This pose is aimed at strengthening your lower legs; it will fire up your glutes and your quads. This twist also helps with increasing digestion. It can help detoxify your entire system by kick-starting the lymphatic system of your body.
- Three Legged Downward Facing Dog
I am sure if you have practiced yoga at least once, in your life, someone would have told you about the downward dog. It is one of the most commonly practiced yoga poses. In this exercises, you’re holding your head below your heart which encourages the flow of blood towards the head. This pose serves as a mental detox as well.
- Revolved Triangle Pose
Another incredible pose that you can try to detoxify your body is the revolved triangle pose. It stretches open your chest, lungs and your shoulder and it also increases your lung capacity a great deal. The revolving motion stimulates the endocrine system and helps with digestion as well. This pose can help you release some stress as well.
- Locust Pose
This pose is aimed at strengthening our entire back, and it opens the heart as well. The pressure that is caused by this pose on your abdomen can encourage digestion. This would help release the toxins that are no longer needed by your body.
- Plow Pose
I found it as one of the hardest poses, but it helps release stress a lot! This pose is known for strengthening the back muscles and also for stretching them. It aligns the spine and helps with improving the body posture. It can tone the abdominal wall and increase metabolism of your body by a great deal.
- Bound Headstand
This is not a beginner’s yoga pose at all, but if you’re committing yourself to detoxifying your body, you better opt for this pose. This pose can stimulate one’s thyroid glands, and it can help eliminate toxins from the body quite effectively.
- Spine twist
This last pose aims to stretch your body and usually performed at the end because it is a relaxing pose. It will make you feel focused and energized which also helps alleviate stress and eliminate all sorts of toxins from your body.
There are a number of ways in which you can detoxify your body, but just like using effective masks for skin helps your face get clean; yoga can also clean your body of all the harmful materials.
