Coorg aptly termed as “The Kashmir of Karnataka” and “The Scotland of India” is a marvellous hill station situated in South Karnataka. Among hill stations of India this picturesque hill station has a special place because of its breathtaking views and exotic locations. Apart from religious destinations Coorg tourism offers many historical tourist attractions such as-

  • Raja’s seat is considered South India’s most beautiful scenic locations. It is a place in town Madikeri where kings used to sit and watch the view of sunsets with their companions. View from this place is breath taking.

  • Madikeri Fort originally was a mud fort built by Mudduraja. It was rebuilt with stone by Tipu Sultan. There is a palace inside this fort and this place has witnessed various fierce battles. This fort is another famous attraction among many tourist places in Coorg. Each year thousands of tourists visit this place because of its archaeological significance and marvellous architecture. The fort offers breathtaking views of the city.

Scenic destinations such as Chelavara fall, Dubare elephant camp, Mandalapatti, Harangi Dam and Cauveri Nisargadhama are other famous tourist places in Coorg. Apart from this, for wildlife enthusiast Nagarhole National Park is an ideal place to visit where you get to see the sepctacular wildlife from close quarters. There are also numerous places in and around Coorg that are pefect to enjoy a plethora of adventure activities such as trekking, river rafting, golfing and angling.
