Fashion trends that made the cut for 2013 may not be suitable selections for 2014. There were all types of fashion statements which were tacky, ugly, and horrifying that should be avoided this year. A variety of trendy fashion is often worn by celebrities and many wore items last year that were typically seen as a fashion faux pas. Here are a few fashion trends that should be put out to pasture in 2014.

Crop Tops

The rejuvenation of 1990s fashion included trends, such as the crop top. This style of clothing is meant to show off the navel and is not suited for everyone. Most people who will look good in a crop top will have abs of steel or at least a flat stomach. Anyone who is not toned or is lacking in keeping fit is often not the best suited for showing off the mid-section.

Printed Leggings

Leggings serve a purpose when outside on a cold winter day. However, wearing printed fashion will be a bust in 2014. Women wearing leggings with prints are as bar or worse than skin-colored items. Many items with flowers or bones will make an eye-catching fashion statement. The statement being made is often not what will be expected. This look is not the most flattering and should be left in the dust when wearing fashion in 2014.

Cut-Out Dress

Many women will turn heads when wearing dresses that have various cut-outs. Most of the dresses will come off as overrated as they often have less fabric and cost more money. Cut-out clothing is often an option for young people who are attending a 1980s themed party. Women who are curvy can be the butt of fat jokes. This is often the case for a plus-size model who is wearing any type of cut-out dress. People can be mistaken at times and might think a cut-out dress is simply just torn. This is the main reason for the cut-out dress to not be an option in 2014.

Flat Form Shoes

This style of shoe is a cross between a platform and a flat shoe. They are often not comfortable and are often clunky looking and can be a downer for most outfits. Women will often look better in a modified heel or a standard high-heeled shoe. One thing is certain about flat form shoes. They need to remain on the shoe rack for the remainder of 2014.

Sheer Skirts

These are a style of dress that look like a swimsuit with a sheer veil attached. Whoever though this was a brilliant fashion idea needs to go back to the drawing board. Getting in and out of this dress can often be a challenge when getting ready or a trip to the restroom is necessary. Women who do not want to experience a wardrobe problem should forgo this fashion statement.
