How To Pack Your Bag Like An Air Hostess?

Last updated on December 14, 2015

With the baggage fees getting higher each year, I know how problematic it is to pack your suitcase without exceeding the given weight limit.

So being a flight attendant myself, I thought it would be a great idea to share with you how to pack your bag with all the necessary items in just one piece of luggage without exceeding weight limit.

When I had to fly to Toronto, I wrote this piece as I remember how easy it had become for me to pack my luggage, while many passengers suffer from carrying bag packs, hand carry and even carrying luggage in their laptop bags.

So here are some tips on how you can pack a bag like a flight attendant.

Let’s assume you are on a ten days travel tip, so here are a number of things you need to pack:

1. Three pairs of jeans or pants.
2. Three pairs of shorts and one skirt.
3. Ten casual shirts.
4. Four dresses.
5. Three swimwear and three night gowns.
6. Five pairs of lingerie.
7. Four dress-shirts
8. Two sweaters and one coat
9. Bag of toiletries.
10. Three pair of shoes.

How To Pack Shirts And Pants

If you are a single traveler and you are traveling for a few days I would suggest that you carry only one bag with you as it will save you time and the hassle of checking your luggage in and out. You can pack all your things in a single standard sized hand carry. How? Simple pack your shirts by rolling them as this will save you a lot of space. Before you start rolling your shirt make sure you smooth it and then roll otherwise you will have permalinks. Same is the case with your jeans and pants.

Use A Ziploc Bag To Pack Toiletries

Packing your toiletries in a Ziploc is a great idea as you can carry them easily in your hand carry; just make sure that you carry the liquid items according to the recommended limit. You can also pack important items like your passport, national identity card and other things in Ziploc bag too.

How to Pack Your Shoes

Packing shoes can definitely be a nightmare, shoes come in awkward shapes and sizes if you place them in your bag heel down they occupy a lot of space. So what do you do? The best way to pack your shoes is by laying them down and the space which is left between the two heels you can occupy that by putting your scarves or dress there. When you are traveling on a ten day trip you only need to pack three pair of shoes.

Chic Dark Flats – For sightseeing and wearing in daytime.
Long Heels – For the evening’s in town.
Black Ankle Boots – This can be used in the daytime as well as in the night, for day-wear it’s really comfy and for night-wear it’s really elegant.

BONUS: You can even fill in the space inside your shoes with T-shirts or other items.
Necessary Items For A Pampered Traveler

Here is a list of few essential items which many ladies would like to travel with:

• Moisturizing Lip balm
• Aspirins
• Face Wipes
• Eye Mask
• Ear Plugs
• Tampons
• Hair Pins
• Kleenex
• Dried Deo Stick

You will never want to arrive at your visit destination looking tired and smelly (always pack the deo stick).

DIY – Toothpaste Dots

The saddest part of traveling you cannot pack a full toothpaste tube. Alright, so here is the alternative, take a foil sheet and put chick-pea sized toothpaste dots on it, let it dry for 2-3 days. After that you can sprinkle some baking soda on it so that they don’t stick. Then put them in a clear Ziploc bag and put them in your purse. Now when you are in the flight you can easily brush your teeth with these toothpaste drops simply put one dot in your mouth, chew a little add some water in your mouth, now start brushing.

See, it’s that simple you don’t have to carry a whole toothpaste tube while your mouth can stay fresh with these toothpaste dots.
