When people think of Las Vegas, they think of elaborate shows, fine dining, and high stakes casino tables. Not too many budget travelers consider Vegas when planning their journeys as they normally use online slot games where all you need to do is sit down and visit homepage, but you will be pleased to know that many options for those on a budget do exist on the Strip and in the metro area. Budget travelers can enjoy the bright lights and the action just as much as moneyed-up travelers just by being inventive and making sure to take advantage of the following budget activities. You don’t have to waste cash on overpriced restaurants to enjoy great cuisine in Vegas. The food truck culture has really been taking off here, and each week seems to bring a new influx of trucks offering tasty options from American standards to ethnic dishes. You can find them lining any of the main streets in town, so make sure to research the trucks you want to hit so you can plan your travels.

A Desert Drive

Don’t forget that just beyond the city limits there are miles of amazing desert to explore. Taking a drive in the desert is truly an experience you will never forget, so make sure to set aside some time to go roving the desert roads. Not only do you have the Nevada desert, but it’s only a little over an hour until you hit the spectacular Joshua Tree just over the California line. It’s a little out of the way, but definitely worth it. And all it will cost you is the price of gas.

Cheap Shows

Vegas is always host to dozens of glitzy shows up and down the Strip. You may think that these shows are a bit out of your price range, but if you go online ahead of time you can find some deals. Often new shows will offer special deals in order to fill seats in the first weeks, and there are a variety of contests and special giveaways to take advantage of. Many of the shows have “cheap seat” options as well. Whatever the case, don’t rule out the shows simply because you are on a budget. You will be surprised at the opportunities for cheap options.

Vegas isn’t just for the high rollers, so don’t rule Sin City out as a cheap travel destination.
