Taapsee Pannu is a versatile actress who never fails to deliver powerful performances through her onscreen characters. She gained immense success with her impressive acting skills in movies like Baby, Naam Shabana, Soorma, Mulk, Saand Ki Aankh, among others. Taapsee’s choice of roles in films is usually challenging and largely unconventional. Just like her onscreen character Rashmi in the upcoming Rashmi Rocket Movie. Soorma stars Diljit Dosanjh, Angad Bedi and Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles. In the movie, Taapsee plays Harpreet Kaur, a budding female hockey player and Sandeep’s love interest. 2. Manmarziyaan

Manmarziyaan is not a sports-based movie, but a romantic drama film with a great story. It features Taapsee in a lead role alongside actors like Vicky Kaushal and Abhishek Bachchan. In the movie, Pannu plays the role of a hockey enthusiast girl from Amritsar. Although she does not play as a professional hockey player in the film, the actress plays the role of a shop owner who sells sports goods and has learned hockey from her parents.

3. Saand Ki Aankh

Saand Ki Aankh is based on a real-life story of India’s two most famous sharpshooter daadis, Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar. The movie stars Taapsee and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles. In the prime of her career, Pannu depicts a character that is twice her age and she had to learn to use an air pistol for her role. Taapsee also wore prosthetics to look like an 83yr old Prakashi in the movie.

4. Rashmi Rocket

The sports drama film is an upcoming ZEE5 Original film directed by Akarsh Khurana. In the movie, Taapsee plays the lead role of Rashmi, a village girl who aspires to become a successful sportswoman. She trained intensively as an athlete to get into the skin of the character. Taapsee’s character Rashmi faces the humiliating ordeal of gender tests and discrimination and decides to fight back for justice. Rashmi Rocket is all set to premiere on the OTT on October 15, 2021. 5. Shabaash Mithu

All set for another challenging role, Taapsee will play cricket on the big screen. The actress will be giving her all as she prepares herself for the lead role in her upcoming sports drama Shabaash Mithu. The film is a biopic on the life of the Indian woman cricketer Mithali Raj. Srijit Mukherji is the director of the film and it will soon be launched for the audience.

An interesting fact about the actress is that she owns a stake in a badminton team. This proves that her love for sports goes beyond the silver screen. Taapsee’s sheer determination, work ethic and effortless acting chops have cemented her position among the best actors in Bollywood.
