National Institute of Design

The National Institute of Design came into existence in year 1961. This institution has three campuses located in Ahmadabad, Gandhi Nagar and Bangalore. This institution purposes admissions to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in field of design. Candidates will get admission in National Institute of Design on the basis of Design Aptitude Test, Studio Test and Personal Interview which are being conducted for the process of admission.

The payment of fee can be done online through debit card or credit card and offline as well with the help of Demand Draft. It should be considered that once the application fee paid will not be refunded.

COURSES OFFERED-

SYLLABUS-

There is no fixed syllabus for entrance exam as such but the candidates can prepare for the entrance exam from the topics such as Composition, Skills of drawing, Creativity, General Mental Ability, skills for Communication and Sensitivity to Environment and Subject of designing. The studio test will consist of different section in different formats which could be hands on assignments as a practical, group discussion, etc.

ADMIT CARD-

The Admit Card will be made available from the fourth week of December, 2016. Candidates can download their admit card and get them printed through the official portal of National Institute of Design. The admit card will comprise of information such as name of the candidate and roll number of candidate, center of exam, date of exam and timing, etc. It is mandatory to bring the admit card at the examination venue and in case of failing to produce the admit card, the candidate will not be permitted to appear for exam.

ADMISSION PROCESS-

The candidates who will clear the exam and other processes related to admission will get admission in National Institute of Design (NID) 2017 on the basis of category and final merit list is prepared. For admission, it is mandatory for candidates to report to the respective campus in which candidate wants to take admission.  Candidates have to show their original documents of educational qualification and relevant certificate of caste or disability certificate if applicable for document authentication process and pay the required fee. In case candidates fail to produce the original certificate, candidate’s admission will stand canceled.
