Presidents’ Quarters Inn

If you’re going to find a place to stay in Savannah, strike off the modern hotels from your list and check in to a bed and breakfast with a mixed ambience of Southern history and culture. Presidents’ Quarters Inn was built in 1855 and was recently renovated in 2007. But the inn carefully preserved their 16 suites with decorative fireplaces. Tybee Lighthouse

The Tybee Lighthouse is just half an hour away from Savannah and is located on Tybee Island, which is also a great place to visit as a prelude to your proposal. Walk on its beach and you might be able to find some endangered loggerhead turtles nesting in the dunes. A Civil War fort is also a must-see attraction if both of you are into history. And of course, the 178-stair Tybee Lighthouse is where your feet will take you at the end of the day. Forsyth Park

The 30-acre Forsyth Park is found right in the heart of Savannah’s historic district and was originally built in the 1840s. If you happen to be there on St. Patrick’s Day, expect the water to be green because of Savannah’s deep Irish heritage. In the evening, the Savannah Jazz Festival is ongoing at the large band shell, a perfect setting for a romantic proposal.
