Top 5 Best Hollywood Movies Of All Time

Movies

When it comes to watching a movie, there really could be “no place like home.” The best part is that you can enjoy a film at your own convenience, take a break whenever needed, because you can say to yourself, “I’ll be back.” Cheesy Hollywood dialogues apart, a really comfortably cinema watching experience can be had with a good laptop table on which you can adjust your computer screen for maximum comfort. Here’s a look at some of the best “must watch” movies of all time.

1.  The Wizard of Oz

Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking, don’t they?” This is what the Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz said to Dorothy when she asked him how he could talk when he didn’t have a brain. Unfortunately, our daily lives make us come across many people who do an awful lot of talking and the best way to take a break over the weekend is to lose yourself in the world of fantasy. And nowhere else is this world better and more timelessly portrayed than in the Land of Oz. Judy Garland gives an unforgettable performance as Dorothy and the music from this film has continued to woo adults and children alike, ever since it was released in 1939. Based on a book by L. Frank Baum, the movie is directed by Victor Fleming, among others, and shows just how much home and family can mean to every human being.

2.  The Godfather

Isn’t it amazing how many catch phrases find their origins in this 1972 classic? This is one movie that got everything right. Based on a book by Mario Puzo and turned into an epic cinematic drama by Francis Ford Coppola, The Godfather stars Marlon Brando, James Caan and a very young Al Pacino. The story essentially revolves around an aging patriarch of a mafia dynasty who wishes to transfer the reigns of his organized crime business to his reluctant son.

The only problem is that it is about half a century too late to watch it on screen. The next best thing to do is to watch it at home. And the best way to do so is to first invest a little time getting yourself the best laptop table online. Once you know you are ready with the set up, don’t forget a large bowl of popcorn!

3.  Pulp Fiction

All the love between Pumpkin and Honey Bunny, that even made it to some really catchy jingles, all began in 1994, with Pulp Fiction. According to Rotten Tomatoes, “One of the most influential films of the 1990s, Pulp Fiction is a delirious post-modern mix of neo-noir thrills, pitch-black humor, and pop-culture touchstones.” This is possibly Quentin Tarantino at his best, with mesmerizing performances from John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Samuel L. Jackson.

4.  Forrest Gump

Released in 1994, this movie won six Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Again based on a book, this time by Winston Groom, Forrest Gump teaches us that “Stupid is as stupid does,” as we traverse through the life of a person with sub-normal IQ, who inadvertently finds a place in some of the most historic moments in American history. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, Tom Hanks won a much deserved Best Actor award for this role. However, before you settle down to watch this film, make sure you have a laptop table for the bed that does not give you a stiff neck at the end of it all.

5.  Avatar

This list wouldn’t be complete without a mention of Avatar. If you thought Titanic was James Cameron’s opus, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet! This movie cost a whopping $280 million to make but every cent was well worth it. Set in the 22nd century, this is a story of a paraplegic marine who gets what he wanted, given that he said, “All I ever wanted was a single thing worth fighting for.” And what a noble fight that was, to protect a civilization that understands the true value of nature and has become one with it. Starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver, the movie will take you on a ride that few others can.
