Not only do you have the Nevada desert, but it’s only a little over an hour until you hit the spectacular Joshua Tree just over the California line. It’s a little out of the way, but definitely worth it. And all it will cost you is the price of gas.

Vegas is always host to dozens of glitzy shows up and down the Strip. You may think that these shows are a bit out of your price range, but if you go online ahead of time you can find some deals. Often new shows will offer special deals in order to fill seats in the first weeks, and there are a variety of contests and special giveaways to take advantage of. Many of the shows have “cheap seat” options as well. Whatever the case, don’t rule out the shows simply because you are on a budget. You will be surprised at the opportunities for cheap options.

Vegas isn’t just for the high rollers, so don’t rule Sin City out as a cheap travel destination.
