Ao Nang is a sub district and small resort town located in Krabi Province (Mueang Krabi District) in Thailand. The town is located centrally in the coastal province of Krabi. The town has a main street dominated by pubs, shops, restaurants among many other commercial establishments aimed at attracting and serving tourists. The Ao Nang’s main beach is popular among sunbathers. The town is also near many islands which are tourist attractions. 1. Scuba diving

2. Rock climbing

Ao Nang is also popular for rock climbing. It is important to note that the town became popular because of backpackers who flocked the town to experience its excellent/unique landscape. 3. The Tsunami monument

In regards to monuments, the Tsunami monument is the most popular tourist monument in Ao Nang. The international community came in to help the locals to reconstruct Ao Nang. Today, the monument is the only visual reminder of the Tsunami. The monument is a very important site and attraction in Ao Nang since it claimed the lives of thousands of foreigners and locals. The Tsunami monument is situated at Noppharat Thara.

4. Nightlife

Ao Nang’s nightlife is also a major tourist attraction. Many tourists flock the town every year to party and have fun. There are two main nightlife centers in Ao Nang namely; The Soi and the Center Point. The Soi is located approximately 200 meters from the beach. The Soi contains numerous bars featuring loud music, bar girls, pool parties, etc. The Center point is located along Ao Nang’s main beach road. Some of the most popular bars include; the Rocky Bar, KR Bar, Chilli Bar, Moo 2 House and Amy’s 69 Bar. Another popular nightlife area is the new resort building located along Bamboo Soi. Ao Nang definitely stands out for its nightlife.

The Islands Near Ao Nang
