Application forms for KVPY will be released soon

The Indian Institute of Science conducts a national level scholarship program which is known as Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana. It is organized to motivate and encourage students for pursing a research career in the field of basic Sciences. This program of scholarship was initiated in 1999 which is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Important Dates-

• The important dates regarding the entrance exam are as-
• The application form will be made available in the second week of July, 2017
• The last for submitting the application form falls in second week of August, 2017
• Admit card will be released in the month of October, 2017
• Exam will be conducted in first week of November, 2017
• Result will be declared in the month of December, 2017

Application form

The application form for the scholarship will be made available through online mode from the second week of July, 2017. Candidates will be able to fill the as Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana(KVPY) application form till the second week of August, 2017.

Application Fee

The fee for the application form for general category is Rs.1055 and for reserved categories is Rs.528. Candidates have the option to submit the fee through credit card/ debit card/ net banking or challan.

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidates should be citizen of India
• For SA stream- the candidates should have to complete their 10^th class with science and mathematics as main subjects with a minimum of 80% marks and 70% for reserved categories in the qualifying exams
• For SX stream- Candidates should have cleared 12^th class with science subjects and should have secured minimum of 60% marks in aggregate and 50% marks for reserved categories

Exam Pattern

• The exam will be conducted in first week of November, 2017
• The exam will be conducted in both offline and online modes
• The duration of the exam will be 3 hours
• The medium of the question paper will be both English and Hindi
• The exam will be comprised of multiple choice questions
• The exam will be divided in 2 parts which are PART 1 and PART 2
• The exam consist of 100 marks as a whole
• The exam will have 4 sections namely

1. Mathematics
2. Physics
3. Chemistry
4. Biology

Syllabus

The syllabus for the exam will consist of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. There is no prescribed syllabus for the exam. The exam will comprise of topics of class 10^th/11^th/12^th/1^st year of BSC/BSTAT/BS/BMATH/INT.MSC/MS.

Admit Card

The admit card for the scholarship exam will be declared on the official website of exam conducting authority. The admit card will be made available in second week of October, 2017. Candidates will be able to download the admit card with the help of registration number.

Result

The result of the scholarship exam will be declared in the first week of December, 2017 on the official website of exam conducting authority. Candidates can take the printouts of results for future use and save them.
