When you are traveling to Montreal, you will want to stay in one of their lovely luxury hotels. With all the amenities you can imagine, a stay in one of these hotels will make for the best experience and the best memories.
Hotel Place d’Armes
This hotel was built in 1870 and is an important part of any sightseeing tour of Montreal. It is now a 4 star hotel as well.
The building that houses the hotel is a paragon of Canada’s end of the century elegance. It was originally a 5 story building and was owned by Great Scottish Life Insurance (the company that had it built). In 1909 it came into the ownership of Ruelles des Fortifications and 2 more floors were added to it. This considerably increased the usable space without compromising the beauty of the original building.
In 1975, the provincial government declared the building to be a historical one and one that contributes to the rich Montreal heritage. It went unoccupied for 30 years and then became the home to the Hotel Place d’Armes and is reliving its halcyon days with glory and prestige.
At the center of Montreal, this hotel has access to all that the beautiful city of Montreal has to offer.
Chateau Versailles
This unique hotel is at the very heart of Montreal in the Golden Square Mile district. It celebrated its centennial birthday in 2011. Featuring 65 suites and rooms, it has a chic yet intimate atmosphere. Each of the rooms is decorated with a powerful fusion of richly textured fabrics set against color schemes that are vibrant with a background of original and antique elements (meaning there is no elevator).
All of the artwork is contemporary and from local artists. The art only accentuates the charm of the communal areas. There is a computer workstation, exercise room and sauna and those areas combined with the breakfast room (Le Boudoir) give the entire hotel the ambiance of a private club.
Le Meridien Versailles
Le Meridien Versailles is a boutique hotel and overlooks the beautiful Golden Square Mile and is perfect for exploring the attractions in Ottawa. The hotel has a uniquely European flair. You can immerse yourself in one of the 108 luxurious guestrooms while you explore the rich culture of Montreal. Nearby you will find museums, galleries, restaurants and boutiques. This hotel in downtown Montreal gives you the ultimate environment for your urban escape.
The room keys at Le Meridien open perspectives as well as doors. In order to enrich your experience, the hotel has partnered with Musee’ d’art contemporain de Montreal and as such is able to provide you with complimentary access to the museum just by presenting your room key card. There is also a new exhibition displayed each quarter right in the lobby of the hotel so that you can begin your quest for great art as soon as you arrive at the hotel.
Whenever you plan to visit Montreal you will discover that there is not a dearth of luxury accommodations. There is an entire list of 4 star hotels in the area and at least 2 5 star hotels. The 5 star hotels are InterContinental Montreal and Hotel Le Crystal Montreal.
InterContinental Montreal is centrally located right at the gateway to Old Montreal which is right downtown and just a mere 20 minute drive from Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.
Hotel Le Crystal Montreal is actually a magnificent tower that can be found at the corner of boulevard Rene-Levesque and de la Montagne Street. It is directly in the heart of the business district in Montreal.
It will definitely be a difficult thing to decide which of these luxury hotels to stay at on your next visit!
