To book the online tickets you need to log on to irctc.co.in web site, here you need to have a registration account. Once the login is made you can enter using your username and password. You then reach “Plan my travel and Book tickets” page. Here you can select the name of the train and mention the destination. Here you can select the e-Ticket option and get the list of e-ticket trains. The route of the trains is also mentioned here.
The “Show Availability” option tells about the availability of seats and berths in the train. The railway fare is also mentioned in the “Get Fare” button. After getting the complete details you can click on the “Book Ticket” button. To book the ticket you need to fill the personal details of the passenger like Passenger’s name, age, sex. The berth preference is also to be mentioned.
You also need to give the serial no of photo identity card for identification. The similar photo identity card is to be taken along with the Electronic Reservation Slip while travelling. One the complete process is done you can make the payments online by clicking on the “Make Payment” button. You can make the payments by selecting the appropriate mode. After making the payments successfully you will get the confirmation of payments along with a “Print Reservation Slip” Button”. Subsequently you can print the Electronic Reservation Slip.
