Places to see before you die-Bangalore

Last updated on December 14, 2015

Bangalore, the city of dreams, bustling with young and hip generation is the best to be in 2015. Bangalore even though being a metropolitan has numerous tourist attractions, which is a big revenue source for revenue generation. This is why I take up the task to decode the huge and hidden city of Bangalore, now called Bengaluru and bring up a list of things to do in Bangalore:
The huge Bull Temple and Dodda Ganesha Temple

A temple built in the heart of the city still maintaining the peacefulness and serenity is the Bull Temple. A 16th-century temple built in Dravidian style, which houses a monolith temple of a Nandi, the bull of Lord Shiva considered to be the one who takes our wishes to the Lord himself. The temple is next to Swee Dodda Ganesh Temple, which has an enormous Ganesh idol. The temple was built by Kempegowda, which now resides at south of Tipu Sultan’s palace. A visit here makes our worries away and brings back the most required serenity back to the mind. Mind is at peace!

Go sprawling your money on Saris

Mysore Sari Udyog in Bengaluru is the oldest and renowned Sari business store. The overcrowded store holds a collection of saris, blouses, scarves and other garments. There is clothing suitable for each budget and choice of clothes. The garments produced here are all made from the finest Mysore silk, which is famous for its texture and feel. The store also consists of export quality pashmina shawls. This is where you should take your wife for the trip to end on a happy note, the only place in Bangalore where a lady won’t be bugged.

Follow the flight of men

Take a quick peek into India’s aeronautical history by visiting the HAL Aerospace Museum, which hosts a fleet, and by fleet I mean a fleet, of aircrafts and helicopters, prototypes and real-life retired models of aircrafts. The museum also has a flight simulator that creates a virtual environment for the visitors to be a bird in the sky. So, if you feel like flying, get down to Airport- Varthur Road and fly in the sky. Not really. Just feel what it feels like to fly.

Come down to the Cubbon Garden

A 120-hectare garden, which was commissioned by British officer Sir Mark Cubbon, allows hush and rush of the city to die down and offer a peaceful moment for the citizens of Bangalore. The garden hosts a gothic styled library, which is closed to public. The fringes are red painted and give it a classic look of the garden as portrayed in the movie. The trees and boughs in the garden offer shelter to our flying friends, and hence a touch of nature can be experienced here.

Bangalore, the Silicon City of India booming with a bustling pace due to growth and segregation of IT industry has still maintained a decorum towards the natural and spiritual world to balance out the rush and serenity between the city so that nothing goes haywire. A perfect balance, things to do in Bangalore!
