When I first started writing for online news channels and websites featuring international breaking news, I had very little reservations as to where my reports were being published. But over the years, I have understood that if I want my articles to be read, I need to partner up with good websites that offer me a high viewership.
As a journalist, I often bookmark websites on my mobile phone and tab that lets me stay connected with each and everything that goes on around me and all over the world. I often end up writing on the news I come across on such sites, getting a good number of views and comments in return.
I have realised that the websites that offer to be the most important to me share a few undeniable characteristics that stops me from putting them away at any point of time. Today, I am sharing a few such characteristics that make a website featuring international breaking news an ideal companion for me.
Fresh and real time news
I would definitely want to go to a website that always offers me fresh and real time news. I don’t think any reader would like to go back and read stale news all the time. Personally I believe that if something happens today, I should get to know about it immediately.
Easy reading and well-structured content
News articles should be well written and absolutely easy to understand. At no point of time should the reader feel the necessity to search for the meanings of the words, phrases or terms they come across. That is not good reading experience.
Moreover, the content should be presented with ample pictures and videos in a well-structured manner to create a higher interest in the readers.
Authenticity and integrity of the information
The information presented in a news article should be absolutely authentic. A website featuring international breaking news should not present the views of the writer but the facts that are collected from interviews and legitimate research.
References
References often give me a feeling that what I am reading is authentic and trustworthy on a news website. The more references you come across, the more are the chances that what you read is actually true facts and not a work of creativity and fiction.
Fewer commercials – more content
A news website is bound to run on commercials and advertisements. However, no reader would like to come across a website that is cluttered with commercials.
Be it a big brand like CNN Online or a popular smaller channel like FastNewsRelease, a good website should always offer their readers more informational content compared to commercials and advertisements.
Interactivities
Finally, I get very interested in a news website featuring international breaking news if they let me share my views as comments or feedback.
Interactivities like polls and votes are also signs of the website wanting their readers to interact and submit their opinions on news releases. Such websites are also great to follow, as they let you understand the views of others along with the news articles you read through.
