Things We Hate to Forget

Last updated on December 13, 2015

It is bound to happen to us sometime, the majority of us have so much going on in our lives that it becomes impossible not to forget something. But there are always those certain things that we hate to forget, those things that we can’t survive without or those things which will cause huge disasters in our lives.

That something important

Have you ever had the little voice in the back of your head telling yourself that you have forgotten something important? I’m sure it has happened to us all at some time or another, how big that thing can vary. The worst case scenario is missing an anniversary of some kind, especially if it in a relationship. Forgetting something like will only go one way and it is never, ever good. In my life I have never forgotten something like that (not bragging, I promise) but I have often forgotten coursework deadlines when doing my A-Levels and had to come up with some kind of inventive excuse on the spot – my favourite excuse I have used was when I claimed I did not do the coursework because the world was predicted to end. It did not work.

Your Phone

Leaving the house without your phone is the very definition of a disaster.  We have all done it at some point, the majority of us probably resemble a zombie in the morning so forgetting something is always a possibility. The phone has become part of who we are, I use my phone for everything and feel lost without it. I am not sure how I would be able to cope if I left my phone at home before going to work in the morning, I would most likely use my lunch break to go back and get it. Even if I don’t have the weight of the phone in my pocket it can drive me crazy. The same goes for my iPod, it has to go with me at all times. I know a phone can be used for music too but I prefer using my iPod to listen to music.

Cigarettes

The number of people using electronic cigarette are rapidly increasing, they are considered to be a lot healthier than the tobacco cigarettes but in the UK they are also exempt from the laws restricting smoking in public spaces. If you are going away from the weekend than forgetting your charger is a nightmare, for a smoker this is probably on the same level as forgetting your phone.

I am sure there are other things which mean more to you than others, when you are a child it is always a teddy or safety blanket. Now it’s a phone and in the future it might be your Google Glasses. Sadly we will always forget those important things to us and will have to suffer the consequences of it.
