7 Edge-Of-The-Seat Thriller Movies You Need To Add To Your Watchlist

Finding a great thriller film can be more difficult than it first appears, in part because the genre lacks a clear definition. Its limits are vague, therefore you could say that a large number of totally different films are all included under this broad category. It’s not the same as a romance or a horror movie, which normally follows pretty clear themes and standards. To make it easier for you, here are some good thriller movies that you can add to your watchlist. 

  • State of Siege: 26/11

The cast of State of Seige includes Tara Alisha Berry, Arjan Bajwa, Arjun Bijlani, Mukul Dev, and Vivek Dahiya. The 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks serve as the series’ central theme. The NSG (National Security Guard) commandos saved Mumbai from an attack in 2008 by defending it. There are plenty of emotional and action-packed situations in the series, so no credit for guessing.

  • Abhay 2

The main actor in Abhay 2 is Kunal Kemmu. He plays the role of Officer Abhay Pratap Singh, an investigating officer, who serves as the focal point of the story. Abhay confronts some of the deadliest villains while on a mission to solve crimes. While Kunal’s performance in the production that was based on true events was similarly impressive, Ram Kapoor was just fantastic.

  • Dhaakad

Dhaakad is an upcoming action thriller movie that made quite a buzz with its official trailer. The Kangana Ranaut starrer film is all set to be released on ZEE5 on July 1. It is about Agent Agni, a fierce field agent who is entrusted with a mission to gather Intel and kill Rudraveer (Arjun Rampal). The movie trailer looks promising as you will get to see a lot of intense action sequences and unique characters in the story. Dhaakad also stars Divya Dutta in a prominent role.

  • Forensic

Forensic is about a criminal investigation where a forensic expert and a police officer go on a quest to find a serial killer. Vishal Furia is the director of the film. It is a remake of the Malayalam mystery thriller by the same name. However, it is not a frame-by-frame adaptation of the original Forensic. The narrative will keep you engrossed throughout the movie. Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte gave great performances, and the film’s visuals are breathtaking as it captures the town of Mussoorie beautifully. 

  • Madras Cafe

An intense action-thriller starring John Abraham as Vikram, an Indian intelligence man who travels to Sri Lanka on a covert operation. He soon becomes involved in both a plot to assassinate the former Indian prime minister and the civil war in Sri Lanka. Vikram is assisted in obtaining crucial information by Nargis Fakhri, who plays the part of a war correspondent and uses her sources to do so.

  • Dhamaka

Dhamaka is the remake of a Korean movie named “The Terror Live’. The film criticises the media and its unethical journalism techniques. The character of Arjun Pathak, played by Kartik Aryan, is a prime-time TV reporter who is also a cunning opportunist. His best chance to recover his lost glory appears to be a phone call from a bomber. But when lives are on the line, he is forced to reconsider his ways of doing work.

  • A Wednesday

Neeraj Pandey’s first film as a filmmaker is titled A Wednesday. The film is among the best crime thrillers ever produced in cinematic history. Naseeruddin Shah, Jimmy Shergill, Aamir Bashir, and Anupam Kher play key characters. In the film, a police commissioner tries to negotiate with a terrorist after getting an anonymous warning about a bomb, but the terrorist demands the release of four militants. The film’s brilliant screenplay and storyline will keep you on your toes at all times.
