How to Deep Clean Your Bathroom in a Few Simple Steps

Irrespective of how you design your house, you will have to maintain it properly so that it stays appealing and functional. Cleaning the space timely is very crucial to maintaining it. Among all the rooms in your house that require proper cleaning, the bathroom is one of the most important ones. This is because it can get dirty very easily and become unhygienic. Also, cleaning your bathroom design is a time-consuming and effortful task given the number of fittings and fixtures installed in the space. From the shower area and bathtub to the toilet, every element should be cleaned properly to ensure it is unstained and hygienic. If you are not sure about how to deep clean your bathroom, here are a few simple steps that will help you: 

01 of 07 Start by removing all the items from their places

When you are cleaning your bathroom decor, the first thing you should do is take out all the items. These items include everything from your toiletries, shampoo bottle, and soap to all other bathing products. Do not just empty the items placed on the bathroom etagere but also the cabinets. If you have any bathroom mat on the floor, remove that as well. After emptying your bathroom completely, you can deep clean it.

02 of 07 Dust and sweep

Just like the rest of the house, your bathroom design can get dusty as well. You might notice dust on the surfaces of your shelves, mirror, cabinets, etc. Cobwebs can form over time as well in the corners or on the lighting fixtures. Before you decide to splash water, always dust and sweep the space. This is because cleaning the bathroom will become much easier once you get rid of the dust first. You can use a dry piece of cloth for cleaning the surfaces. In case you cannot each the cobwebs with the sweeping broom, get a ladder so that you can reach higher. Vacuuming the space instead of sweeping the space will work as well. It will actually make the task much easier.

03 of 07 Use a cleaner for cleaning the shower and bathtub

Dusting and sweeping your shower area and bathtub will work. These are wet zones of your bathroom plan and require more effort. If you do not clean them for a long period of time, they will get stained and appear unappealing. To get rid of the stains and make them appear as good as new ones, you will have to use a cleaner for cleaning. There are various types of cleaners available in the market. Get an all-purpose cleaner for cleaning. However, if the stains are very stubborn, you can get stronger cleaners like an acid-based cleaner. Make sure you are careful while using acidic cleaners as they can damage your skin and stain the surface. After applying the cleaner, let it soak while you focus on cleaning other things. 

04 of 07 Clean the surfaces

An all-purpose cleaner is not required only for cleaning your shower and bathtub. You will need it for cleaning other surfaces as well. Once you have dusted all the surfaces, you might still notice stains and spots. To remove them completely and make your bathroom design spotless, you will have to clean the surfaces with a cleaner post dusting. Spray the all-purpose cleaner on a piece of cloth and clean all the surfaces using it. Make sure you clean from the top sections of the bathroom to the bottom sections for convenience.  Work in sections from the top of the room to the bottom, and left to right. 

05 of 07 Finish cleaning the shower and bathtub

As mentioned earlier, you should let the cleaner soak for some time. Once you complete cleaning the other items, you must focus on the shower and bathtub again. At this point, the cleaner must have loosened the stains and buildup. You just need to scrub the surface with a scrubber to get rid of them. While you are at it, clean the walls around the shower and bathtub so that the entire area appears clean. Now, you can slowly keep all the removed items back to their original space. Make sure you wipe them clean before keeping them back. The shower curtain or door is important as well. If you have a curtain, remove and wash it properly once. If you have a glass door, it can be cleaned using the all-purpose cleaner. 

06 of 07 Clean the vanity 

Cleaning the vanity of your bathroom plan is important as well. However, it does not require much effort. You just need to scrub the faucets and countertops with the all-purpose cleaner and wash them. They will be as good as new. If there are stains in the sink, use an acidic cleaner for the purpose. 

07 of 07 Clean the toilet

This is one of the most important parts of cleaning your bathroom decor. It will help to ensure that your bathroom is hygienic. You just need an acidic cleaner and a toilet brush. Put the cleaner on the surface of your toilet and scrub it with a brush after allowing it to soak for 5 to 10 minutes. Flush twice after scrubbing and your toilet will be clean.
